I...Thank you for sharing some of your memories Dan. I only met Ray a handful of times but all those meetings are very precious to me. Ray was such a modest man but I never held back when I spoke of my love of his pots. I'm sure Ray found it uncomfortable at times - but I also know he appreciated it. And I can rest safe in the knowledge that he knew exactly how much I appreciate his pots and how important they are to me. My initial pottery ‘bug’ came about from finding some Leach pots whilst on holiday. But as I studied pottery more it was only a matter of time before I learnt about Winchcombe. With the pottery only being 60 miles from me I have visited on many many occasions and would often take pots along to show Ray – sometimes his pots and sometimes others (and sometimes others at his request). He will be sadly missed but never forgotten. I always have and will continue to refer to him as ‘Ray Finch the Legend’. His passing marks the end of an era in pottery history – but his name is firmly burnt into that history. My next visit to the pottery will be a sad one – but team will still be there – I will have a chat with Dave and enjoy a cup of tea from a Winchcombe mug. And Ray’s presence will never leave Winchcombe.James Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15436197206428602613noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4261938560667253903.post-51302750257553365342012-01-22T20:40:15.185-05:002012-01-22T20:40:15.185-05:00Thanks Dan, it sounds like you might have more st...Thanks Dan, it sounds like you might have more stories.
