I was searching for architecture blogs and came across these photos from a site called englishrussia.com. They are from a brick fortress in Russia that was used to test napalm. The heat produced melted the bricks and cooled into stalactites (or is that stalagmites?).

That's incredibly surreal isn't it? Beautiful and somehow morbid at the same time....

ReplyDeleteThat would be "think."
ReplyDeleteStalacTites are on Top. :)
ReplyDeleteWow that's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHollis, It would depend on what kind of brick they are...terra cotta might melt at a much lower temperature than you think.I'm no expert on the BTU value of napalm. I do think it is beautiful and spooky all at the same time. Sort of like the polish salt mines I've blogged about.
ReplyDeleteStalactites hang tightly to the ceiling...
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing..
