I spent a lot of time in the studio this week with little to distract or divert me except for the swarm of bees that I almost captured! Teapots and baking dishes, bud vases and creamers have been flying from my fingers! To day I finished making a mega teapot and then threw a dozen honey pots (I am trying my best to revive interest in this once noble pot!)
It's a well known fact.
Think of your favorite comfort food...
Up to 4" tall
Lugs for handles
1/2 and 3/4 pound cream jugs
Here is my newest film titled "White Tree" they are covered in bees!
Busy guy. And all i'm doing here is drinking good COFFEE and beer, both items abundant here in seattle.
ReplyDeleteReminds me. I need to make baking dishes.Yours look great.
ReplyDeleteWonderful to see all these pots Dan. Love the bakers. I've been thinking about the ledges on your pots. You know like we talked about. Was thinking about giving them a go on a few things. Not back to proper making yet, but we'll see. Love the bee tree. Quite the soundtrack.
ReplyDeleteA lovely sight!
ReplyDeleteYou can have fun with making bud vases.
Happy to see agreement about tea....and the awesome pot!
ReplyDeleteAs for honey pots......I like and use them a lot, but have not made them for years. I was thinking of making them with little spoons instead of servers.
Perhaps to get interest going you need to put out a challenge. How many variations of a honey pot are possible.
What a productive week you've had! And love the "TEA" pot. But, I'm with Hollis in spirit (and coffee drinking) and am off to Seattle for some clay and coffee!
ReplyDeleteGreat pieces! Really beautiful decorations as well! I am in awe of the production! Are you sure you don't have some elves sitting around there with the bees?
