I am so sorry to be telling you about the passing of one of the true giants of the pottery world. Ray passed away at the age of 97. I'll write more about this wonderful man later. If you ever had the chance to know him you should count yourself fortunate. He changed my life...and many others.

I first met him in about 1982 and he kept me inspired to carry on making. A lovely man..and was still potting last year, so I heard!
Sorry to hear this Dan, and you planning a trip over this Summer.
Our condolences, Dan. Ray lived a long life and touched many people. Dee and I were so happy to meet him (and Eddie H.) several years ago, when Toff took us to Winchcombe. We know how much he shaped you as a potter, and Toff, too.
So sorry for your loss Dan, but wow! 97! What an inspiration for those days when I'm having a pity party about being 50! I'm just getting started :)
Dan I am sorry to hear about this, and wish I could have met him. It was great to hear about him through you though, and look forward to more stories on your blog soon!
Dan,
Very sorry to hear about the loss of Ray. I know how much he meant to you just by the way you talked of him with such reverence over the years.
