Travelling Shoes

Beth is coming to pick me up in 33 minutes for the drive to Dulles Airport. By 9pm US time tomorrow I'll be back in the bosom of the Cotswolds in the shadow of Breedin Hill with the Milways. That's Gloucestershire England for those of you not in the know, where I bumped into the Winchcombe Pottery by accident and thereby set the course for the rest of my days. I'll be gone for 7 very busy weeks and I'll keep you up to date as I can.
The last few months have been relentless: In mid-March I gave a workshop and speech in Cape Cod then returned to fire the kiln. Since then we've had three new shows open at LibertyTown and our big fundraiser and I did the Reston show with Susan and made and fired the kiln again. Even a plane ride seems restful!
I'm happy for a change of pace and scenery. And, when I'm there, I'm no longer the 'Decider' I just go with the flow. Blissful. Later folks, Dan

Hi Dan, I wish you a bon voyage and hope to see you on the flipside as they say. I've been a little out of the loop as of late and was sorry to read about your tribulations as I caught up with you and the blog. But your trip I'm sure will be inspiring and I'm envy you. I hope you will have a chance to send some blogger's post cards and look forward to your return and our show!!!

HEY! I recognize that beard!!!

It's Jessa, from that Penland class way back when. How are you my friend?

I'm fabulous. I'm doing a lot more mommying than potting these days. We have a 20 month old son, Eli, and another silly boy on the way and it is magical. I put down my potter hat for a while a few months ago when Eli got mobile. And then #2 appeared, so my haidus got extended. It's lovely, though I miss the mud.

I actually googled you because I'm applying to teach adjunct ceramics at University of Denver and was going to put you as a reference. One of the classes I would be teaching if I get it is about Food and Function and for me that all started with you. So, if you don't mind, I'm putting you on my reference list.

I can't wait to read up on your blog and see what you've been up to! We blog too, mostly kid stuff, at ericandjessa.blogspot.com or you can email me: jessadeckersmith@gmail.com

Be well!
